I went hunting for cozy winter holiday decor ideas that wouldn’t cost me a fortune last year. In fact, I was really hoping to skip ordering online or in-person shopping last year for holiday decorations and turned to consider my DIY options. YouTube to the rescue! I found this terrific, easy-to-follow set of instructions on how to make new pillowcases, and it inspired me to adapt the pattern to my favorite flannel fabric. So, if you are looking for a quick way to make your bedroom or guest room feel holiday-ready, I’ll pop up my cozy winter pillowcase photos and the link to the YouTube account that has all the answers.

My Winter Holiday Pillowcases
For my first project, I chose a flannel fabric that felt Christmas-y but wasn’t so holiday-specific that I couldn’t keep it on our bed throughout the winter. You can choose even more adaptable fabric if you are looking for winter decor ideas that are holiday neutral. I bought mine at Joann (which I still think of as Joann Fabrics, of course).
Other Winter Holiday Decor Ideas
I’m taking the idea from last year and running with it for the 2021 winter holiday season. This decor idea turns up the holiday fabric feeling. I’m planning on creating envelope fold pillowcase covers for our decorative couch and chair pillows so that they’ll be easy to take off when the season is over. I’ll update you with pics when that project is done. Wish me luck!
