if you have been reading the site over the last couple of years, you’ll know that my friend’s husband discovered the Halloween wonders on Crescenda St in Brentwood. I’ve been so impressed every time that we have gone. This year, they are taking this free Halloween event up a notch with new exhibits, including a spectacular Alice in Wonderland section, the scope of which is hard to get across in photos. You’ll just have to go see it!
This year, when Andy and I were looking for fun Halloween activities in Los Angeles that were Covid-safe and free, we remembered this now-famous street. Typically, we have visited in the later afternoon when coming back from the beach, but this year, we wandered in as darkness had already fallen. Staying Safe During Your 2020 Halloween Activities
Just a couple of words of caution — do wear masks, even though the event is outside. People pull over and get out to walk the long block and during the busier nights, you may encounter a number of other families. We were lucky in that everyone when we were there remained socially distanced and wore masks while enjoying this event. Another bit of caution, the other side of the road is quite dark. When you are parking or pulling out, please keep an eye out for people, particularly children, crossing from the darker side of the street onto the side filled with the Halloween decorations.
