Those Someday Goals covers a range of topics from minimalism to food and wine to travel and quitting your job. Above all, it explores the difficulties in making major life changes. Opinions here are honest ones. Sometimes getting started or staying focused feels impossible. We’ll explore the ups and downs of it all.
Are There Other Writers on Those Someday Goals?
Yes. Currently, Helen Oliver writes The Librarian & The Vine wine blog. But our goal is to add more regular contributors. I’d like to add a team of life coaches, food explorers and literature/film adventurers. If new writers come onto the scene, they will be identified on their individual articles.
Do You Pay Contributors?
I will, but I am not currently looking for content. When I do, the payment will be $50 per article, paid through PayPal upon publishing. The article must be your work, an original piece (not a re-run from something you have previously published because Google punishes for that), include at least one photo and be approximately 500 words (again, Google issues). If you are a travel writer submitting a guest post, you need to prove that you have completed that travel because I want your experience and thoughts on the place and not an Internet aggregate piece. I will include a link back to your site. I do not accept links to third-parties inside a guest post without an advertising fee. As the site grows, I hope to start accepting submissions. I’ll put out the word when I am in the position to do that.
Where are the Photos from?
Most of the photos on this site are my personal photos. Otherwise, I purchase photos from Shutterstock.com.
Are All the TravelingWithoutANet.com articles here?
Many of the articles from TravelingWithoutANet.com have migrated, but some have been trashed in favor of more up-to-date articles. Alas, much of the media did not make it over, so the process of adding back in the photos and videos is ongoing.
Will You Run Ads?
We are giving it ads a trial run right now. I’m not sold on keeping them, but for the moment they are there. I prefer to do sponsored posts for places, experiences, books, etc. I may incorporate affiliate links to specific things that I love, including books, wine, restaurants or hotels. If any post uses affiliate links or is sponsored, it will be indicated on the post.
Who is Patricia? Loaded question. Here’s the official bio:
Patricia attended Kenyon College and American University. An escape plan from corporate life started to develop as she pursued her interests as a writer and producer through Circe’s World Films. She has been involved in co- and exec-producing feature and short films ranging from broad comedy to psychological drama, including the award-winning short “Touch.” She recently wrote “Dating in LA and Other Urban Myths” as a limited series. The series is based on her long-running blog of the same name which can be found here.
Patricia published “My Letter to Fear: Essay on Life, Love and the Search for Prince Charming.” This collection of essays is based on a series of interviews she held with women over the course of two years. She put no restrictions on age or ethnicity. They just needed to be willing to answer some questions. Steffy asked them about the expectations they had for their lives when they were very young versus their current realities as adults. She asked them to tell her the best things about themselves (a question which was surprisingly difficult for people to answer) and the worst things. Those answers—the funny, the sad, and the hysterical—and her own experiences became the basis for these essays.
