How often do you get to say that you had dinner in Twin Peaks? Well, I suppose if you live in this small mountain town, you get to say it all the time, but I was wildly entertained when I saw the sign. Slotted between where we were staying in Crestline and the larger Lake Arrowhead, Twin Peaks became our destination for a nice dinner on our first night in town. Where did we go? The Grill at Antler’s Inn.
I was sold just from the twinkle lights and that patio seating, but the inside ambiance is just as lovely. Filled with wood accents, there is a comfortable yet romantic feel to the place. This is a spot to linger over tasty food – not a spot that is going to rush you in and out even when they are busy, as they were on a Friday night.
Recommended dish: Pork T-Bone
I enjoyed the chicken and penne gorgonzola, but the pork t-bone that Andy had was something special, as was the raspberry dressing on the house salad (it’s something unique to the restaurant). If you like pork that has a bit of spicy kick, this is the dish for you.
Price
Entrees run from $18-ish to about $45, and the portions are large.
Downside
The only downside I can think of is that their “by the glass” wine menu is fairly limited. Andy and I don’t drink a lot, so a bottle isn’t practical. We did end up finding something that each of us enjoyed, though.
Dress code
Upscale casual seemed to be the general feel, with some being more casual than others. I did wear jeans, and I wasn’t alone, but I saw some people a bit more dressed up. I’m guessing it is like a lot of nice restaurants in mountain towns – variations on casual rule the day.
Overall
If you are in the area and looking for a nice restaurant that is particularly well-suited to couples, The Grill at Antler’s Inn is a great choice!
