I wanted to wrap up coverage of our latest trip to Avila Beach, California with some lovely photos of the sand, the pier, and the park. It was such a fun trip and surprisingly relaxing. So little is these days, and we really needed an escape.
Were things perfect in Avila Beach? No. Given that the pandemic is still a thing, it isn’t shocking that people and businesses are struggling to adjust. I think tourist towns got hit pretty hard, but beach towns often have vibrant outdoor spaces, which helped. Avila Beach seems to be one of those places.
Take a walk on the pier, and check out their restoration plans. Enjoy the sand at sunset (or at noon, whatever floats your boat). Wander into the hills, visit Pirates Cove Beach Trail, and order drinks and nosh.
Should you expect service to still be an issue? Yes. But the slower pace isn’t all bad. We learned to take some deep breaths and stay flexible. We changed plans more than once, and that was okay. I’m not great at being flexible in my day-to-day life, so this trip might even help me embrace that lesson at home. Or not, we’ll see.
Meanwhile, enjoy the photos of Avila Beach, California. If you want to read about all of our adventures this trip and in 2015, click here.
